Where I Stand on Policy
Principled leadership focused on local control, fiscal responsibility, and practical solutions.
A Local Advocate for
Herriman, Riverton, and South Jordan
Growth
Growth should work for our communities, not against them.
Our area is growing fast, and housing policy must respect local land-use decisions, protect private property rights, and avoid one-size-fits-all state mandates. I will support responsible growth that expands homeownership opportunities while ensuring roads, schools, water, and public safety keep pace, and that permitting and planning decisions are coordinated rather than delayed by overlapping rules.
Local Control
Local problems deserve local solutions.
The government closest to the people governs best. I will work directly with mayors, councils, and county leaders to ensure state policy empowers local elected officials, preserves local decision-making authority, and avoids unfunded or duplicative mandates that shift costs onto communities.
Infrastructure
Infrastructure should enable growth, not lag behind it.
Residents are rightfully frustrated by congestion and uneven infrastructure investment. I will advocate for infrastructure dollars to follow tax dollars and work with local leaders on projects that reduce commute times, improve safety, and better connect our communities, while ensuring projects are reviewed for cost, impact, and long-term value.
Small Business
Local businesses deserve predictability, not paperwork.
Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. I will focus on reducing duplicative regulations, improving permitting timelines, and reviewing unnecessary occupational licensing requirements so entrepreneurs and skilled trades can work, grow, and hire locally without artificial barriers.
A Conservative Leader
Who Governs with Discipline and Results
Fiscal Responsibility
Government should live within its means, just like the rest of us.
Utah’s balanced budgets are a strength, but families are still feeling pressure. I will support balancing the budget, building our rainy day fund, cutting waste at the state and local level, and using audits, performance reviews, and sunset provisions to ensure programs deliver results before they are expanded or renewed.
Low Taxes
Taxes should be low, simple, and fair.
I will work with local governments to reduce property tax pressure and oppose policies that shift costs onto families. Broad-based tax relief, disciplined spending, and responsible use of one-time revenue must go hand in hand to avoid creating new long-term obligations.
Limited Government
Government exists for the people, not the other way around.
I oppose one-size-fits-all mandates on individuals and local governments. I support term limits for state officials and limits on the number of bills the Legislature can pass so laws are carefully considered, accessible to the public, and focused on real needs rather than volume.
Economic Freedom
Opportunity comes from removing barriers, not picking winners.
I oppose corporate subsidies and targeted incentives. Utah’s economy thrives when regulations are clear, competition is fair, and government focuses on removing obstacles to work, investment, and innovation across all industries.
Fighting for Utah Families
and Quality of Life
Affordability
The cost of living should make it easier, not harder, to raise a family.
Families are facing rising housing, grocery, and childcare costs, property taxes, and everyday expenses. I will prioritize policies that increase housing supply, control government spending, and demand transparency and accountability when taxes or fees rise.
Education
Our kids thrive when parents are empowered and teachers are supported.
Parents must have the right to choose the best educational path for their children and be informed and involved in their education. As choice expands, strong implementation, transparency, and accountability for learning outcomes are essential, alongside direct investment in educators and flexibility for local districts.
Workforce Alignment
Education should create real opportunity for our kids.
Utah’s education system must keep pace with workforce needs. I support K–12, higher education, career and technical education, and apprenticeship pathways that prepare students for good jobs and long-term independence.
Public Safety
Utah families need a place they can thrive.
Quality of life includes safe neighborhoods, clean air and water, and access to essential services. I will support public safety teams by ensuring local governments have the tools to hire and retain police and fire professionals, and by backing targeted efforts to address fentanyl, trafficking, and violent crime through coordination and accountability. I’ll also pursue practical, data-driven stewardship of our air, water, and energy resources that protects public
